This is a sponsored post, but all opinions are my own.
Let me preface this blog post by saying that I am a little bit of a control freak when it comes to cleaning my face. Okay not a little bit… I’m a full-blown psycho and I probably wash my face waaaay too often. Which is funny because I’m the exact opposite when it comes to my hair. (see blog post of how to go a week without washing your hair lol). But seriously, I can go 7 days before forcing myself to put the effort into washing this mane – but when it comes to my skin, I wash my face twice, sometimes even three times a day. I know, excessive. I don’t know why, but it drives me absolutely crazy to ever feel like my face is dirty. Part of the reason might be because I have struggled with acne ever since I was a preteen. I was told by my dermatologist and mom to “wash my face frequently” and “never sleep in makeup” and to “never put makeup on without washing my face first” and to always always always “wash my face after a workout”. Which, for a 14-year-old, are some pretty hard things to get used to. But I did them anyway and I have to say… it has really helped. Or at least it makes me feel like it does because it’s something that I can do, and I can control. So I guess that putting all of those habits into practice for the past 10 years in order to prevent my breakouts from getting worse, has made me a stickler when it comes to keeping my skin clean.
I have a pretty rigorous skin routine that I have perfected and still follow to this day. To be honest, I have tried EVERYTHING to get to this point. Is my skin perfect? Definitely not. I wish I was one of those people who never had a pimple or a blemish and just woke up and went to bed with flawless skin. But I’m not and I don’t believe that I ever will be. I have had to work hard, really hard, to take the best care of my skin possible and while there are times I can be extremely self-conscious whenever I have break out, I’m also really proud of how far my skin has come.
With that being said, I’m also human. And I’ll admit, there are times where I get home way too late from date night with the hubby or I have a few too many drinks with friends and the LAST thing that I want to do is put myself through my skin routine. At that moment my choice is to spend 15 minutes washing my face and putting on toner and applying face cream, etc. or to take the easy route and just fall asleep in my makeup. As much as I hate the feeling of waking up with last night’s makeup residue still on my face, it always seems like a good idea when sleep is on the horizon. So more often than not, I give in and regret it in the morning. Usually with a breakout accompanied by it as well. That is, until I found Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes.

I was first introduced to this amazing product a few months ago by my friend, Sara, while she was in town visiting. It was around 2am and I was whining about not wanting to wash my face so I proceeded to lean over the kitchen sink and use the hand soap on the counter. Yeah, I was THAT lazy. But of course, Sara wasn’t having it so she went and grabbed her makeup wipes. To which I told her, those never work for me because they don’t take off all my makeup. But she convinced me to give them a try and I couldn’t believe it.

They cleaned my face as well as -if not better- than my normal skin routine and they took only about a minute to use. Not only did it remove the stubborn makeup such as mascara, but it didn’t leave a residue on my skin like most make up wipes do. I was amazed, relieved and so incredibly excited that I don’t have to choose between sleep and the health of my skin anymore. What I love about this product the most is the simplicity yet effectiveness of it. There’s no need to rinse afterwards because it cleans that well but it’s also very gentle and soft on your skin so it won’t irritate it. And if all of that is not tempting enough, you can conveniently purchase them at Walmart in the Skincare area.

There’s a reason they are the #1 choice of Makeup Artists and I can confidently say that I will be a Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes user for life.
